Halloween Scene

So it's been a little while since I've posted. Today I'm sharing a Halloween Scene I've been working on.  Stampin' Up! Has a new stamp set and matching die set and the bundle is called Holiday Home Photopolymer Bundle.  The die set has 3 dies of houses called Homemade Holiday Framelits Dies and the stamp set is Holiday Home Photopolymer Stamp Set.  Although I'm stamping a Halloween scene today, you can also stamp a Christmas or snow scene too.  The houses could be used for a number of different items too.  The set is so cute.  I'm going to have a lot of fun with it.  Anyways here is my scene, I'm hoping to find a nice frame to put it in and hang on the wall for Halloween and later change it out for a Christmas scene that I will make later.  If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Pastor Appreciation Card

As many of you may know, October is pastor appreciation month.  For the children's youth pastor I made this card using the new Circle Card Thinlit Die, which my 18 year old son thought was cool.  It comes with more dies than just the card die.  I also used here the star, thx, flowered circle, and the 3 points or arrows(not sure what to call them. ;))

I also used a hexagon punch.  I used a little print mastering to blur what my children wrote to their youth pastor as we believe it should be private.

Autulmn birthday cards

I made a couple of birthday cards and since it was fall decided to go with an Autumn theme.

This is the first one I made.

And this one is the second.  

Wish I would have thought about adding the acorn to the first one, but oh well.  The oak leaf stamp is from a retired stamp set, but I wanted to use it anyways.

Christmas tags

Well it's almost Christmas and I haven't done a lot of posts, sorry.  I was hoping to do some classes, but the doctors haven't figured out my pain yet. I made some Christmas tags and since I won't be having a class I thought I'd better at least post them before the seasons over.

Stampin' Up! Earrings

So I'm back from Stampin' Up! Convention.  I had a great time, except for my sore throat.  Anyways, I did a jewelry swap and here's what I made and how I made them:

First I cut out a lot of 1" X 1" squares.  For each pair of earrings I cut 4 of the DSP and 2 in cardstock.  Using the cardstock in the middle and making sure both sides have the same design facing out, then use a paintbrush to paint Mod Podge on 2 pieces, making sure to keep them lined up evenly.  While still wet, use a small hole punch for the jump rings, I punched 1 at the top and 1 at the bottom.  Also, while still wet, mold your paper the way you'd like it.  I used the bone folder to help me.  I then let them dry overnight.  Next I used the Crystal effects, I just put a huge glob on each earring and used my paintbrush to quickly spread it, making sure not to leave brush strokes, don't worry about your punched holes getting covered.  While still wet, I added silver glass glitter and dazzling diamonds glitter, to 1 side only.  Again, I waited overnight to dry and then repeat on other side.

I made the beads at the same time, since they take some drying time too.  I used the new simply pressed clay and using the ink refills to color it.  It doesn't take much clay either.  Make little balls of clay and then use the paper-piercing tool to put the hole in them, then placing them to the side to dry.  After dry I covered them with Versamark, then dipped them in the Iridescent Ice emboss powder and heating with heat tool, I used the paper-piercing tool to keep them from flying around.  Next I put 3 - 4 beads on a headpin, used a small paintbrush and brushed on crystal effects, then pinned them into styrofoam, making sure they didn't touch one another, until dry.

Next it was time to build the earrings.  Using the paper-piercing tool again, push them through your punched out holes, to get the crystal effects out.  When building your earrings, make sure to have some smaller beads to put on either side of your handmade beads so they don't come off the headpins.  For each earring I used 2 large oval jump rings, 4 small circle jump rings, a small headpin, and a flat ear wire.

Here they are all finished.  I've already got an order to make one for someone.  I hope you like them.

New Stampin' Up Clay

 Sorry I haven't kept up on my blog, dealing with some medical issues.  Anyways, I wanted to share some items I made with the new Clay that's coming out in the new Stampin' Up Catalog.  I really enjoy making things with this new clay.  It's not like regular clay, when it dries, it almost feels like paper and it's very light.  You can do a lot of interesting things with it, dye it before making item, of color it afterwards, stamp it or press a stamp into the clay (or both if you like), use the molds you can buy, use framelits, or simply cut out - while wet or dry.  So many different things!  You can also use embossing powder, but beware, getting the clay too hot will cause it to balloon up, most of the time I just push them back down quickly and lightly.  Here's some of my creations:

I'll make the supply list when I can add the new items.  I can tell you the purple rose was made from Wisteria Wonder and Rich Razzleberry, I wanted it just a little darker purple than the Wisteria Wonder.  I also added some Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter to the barrettes.  The butterflies are from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die.  I used a small rolling pin to flatten out and then put in Embosslit and carefully rolled it with the rolling pin, I wouldn't recommend putting the clay in the Big Shot.  That's it for now, hope you enjoy, and hopefully I can get back to doing my blog more often.  However, currently taking a lot of medicine that makes me drowsy, hoping the doctors can figure out what's wrong soon.
