Graduation Card # 2

Day 2 of my Graduation Cards. Apparently I only took one photo of this card. This one is actually my son's graduation card. His school colors were red and white. It was a busy year trying to get his scrapbook ready for graduation at church. His party and all the cards I made. I guess in all the busyness, I forgot to take the pictures of all the cards. Oh well, at least I got his!

Graduation Card #1

Wow, I just haven't been keeping up with my blog. guess I better get back to it. It's graduation time so I thought I'd share some cards I've made. Mind you some of these are old, but you can still use the same idea. I made these first ones personalized for the individuals. Also, I used their school colors for their card.

 
I thought they came out really nice, but it was a lot of work for each one. Tomorrow I will have card #2 for graduation cards. Thanks for dropping by!

Using Dies for T-Shirt Stencils

Here's a project that doesn't take too much time. I started with the Butterfly Dies from Stampin' Up! using both the Butterflies Thinlit and the Bold Butterfly Framelit Dies. Taking some freezer paper, I cut out several of the butterflies, with the help of the Big Shot. Make sure to remove all the small little pieces from the wings so they don't accidentally get ironed on to the shirt. Next take your t-shirt and put it on your t-shirt form (you can get these at most craft stores). Lay the butterflies however you like with the shiny side down. Take a hot dry iron and apply them to the shirt, doesn't take much to get them to stick. Next, I got a bleach pen and although it didn't say to shake it, do so! It comes out creamy. Mine was coming out creamy when all of a sudden it poured clear bleach out on the little butterfly in the top right, so learn from my mistake. ;) I used the bleach pen to fill in the holes and outlined the butterflies. Here's a close-up of one:

It doesn't take too long for the bleach to work. I think I waited a couple of hours before going to the next step. The next thing I did was find an old spray bottle that had been cleaned out and poured some bleach into it, took it and the t-shirt outside and spritzed the shirt. (I practiced a little in the air first to see how it was going to spray.) Make sure you spray with the wind so the spray doesn't come back onto you and your clothing. I then poured the bleach back into it's original container and cleaned out the bottle in case I want to use it for something else. I bought pink stencil spray paint and spritzed it, again I tested it first to see how it would spray. The grass won't be pink forever. Then I brought it back in to dry. The paint said to wait an hour to dry and then I removed the freezer paper stencils. I'm allowed to wash it after 72 hours. Can't wait to wear it! Thanks for stopping by!

Butterfly Thinlits Dies

Today I'm going to share with you some ideas for the largest Butterfly Thinlits Die. 

I'll apologize now for the blurry pictures.  I have a tremor and when I use my cell phone, they don't come out very focused.

I started out outlining the butterfly so I knew where I wanted to color.

Next I just started coloring in the shape. I used the Blendabilities markers.  If you like you place your die over your outlined butterfly to see if your color is where you would like it to be.   Remember that the holes will be what is cut out.

Here it is after I cut it out.

I used the Light Wisteria Wonder around the edges,  Medium Pumpkin Pie next it and in the middle of the wings, Light Daffodil Delight, between the Pumpkin Pie, Light Pink Pirouette at the top, and Light Crumb Cake for the body of the butterfly.

The second butterfly I outlined again, but this time I used the first one to outline the body of the butterfly so not to over color it. 

Again using the Blendabilities, I started with the Light Crumb Cake again for the body, then Dark Coastal Cobana starting around the edges.  Next I used Medium Bermuda Bay.

After that Medium Coastal Cobana.

Next Light Bermuda Bay.

And finally Light Coastal Cobana.

Thought I'd add a picture of what it looks like after cutting them out and the pieces left in the die.  Looks pretty!

The third one I started out with cutting the butterfly first.

And then just colored it with the Blendabilities.

Light Crumb Cake for the body again.  Light Wisteria Wonder again for the outer edge.  Next Medium Rich Razzleberry on top and Light Razzleberry on bottom (they look pretty much the same in the picture).  I then used Dark Pink Pirouette and finally Medium Pink Pirouette.

The last one, I used DSP (Designer Series Paper).

This one is retired, but any DSP will work.

What I love about the DSP, is that it's two-sided.

You can use either side once you pop it out.  Which reminds me, you can use the Simply Scored Stylus in the bigger holes and the Paper Piercer in the smaller holes to remove the butterfly from the die.

Halloween Scene

So it's been a little while since I've posted. Today I'm sharing a Halloween Scene I've been working on.  Stampin' Up! Has a new stamp set and matching die set and the bundle is called Holiday Home Photopolymer Bundle.  The die set has 3 dies of houses called Homemade Holiday Framelits Dies and the stamp set is Holiday Home Photopolymer Stamp Set.  Although I'm stamping a Halloween scene today, you can also stamp a Christmas or snow scene too.  The houses could be used for a number of different items too.  The set is so cute.  I'm going to have a lot of fun with it.  Anyways here is my scene, I'm hoping to find a nice frame to put it in and hang on the wall for Halloween and later change it out for a Christmas scene that I will make later.  If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Pastor Appreciation Card

As many of you may know, October is pastor appreciation month.  For the children's youth pastor I made this card using the new Circle Card Thinlit Die, which my 18 year old son thought was cool.  It comes with more dies than just the card die.  I also used here the star, thx, flowered circle, and the 3 points or arrows(not sure what to call them. ;))

I also used a hexagon punch.  I used a little print mastering to blur what my children wrote to their youth pastor as we believe it should be private.
